The Sidney Williams Hut

The Sidney Williams Hut

The building on the right, which fronted the Esplanade, housed the Sheriff (who was also the Clerk of Courts, Clerk of the Licensing Court etc) and the Master of the Supreme Court who had chambers about half way down the building on the right hand side protected by awnings. The Supreme Court Library was at the rear of this building. The counter can be seen through the front door on the right.

The Supreme Court is the building at the end of the tennis court. The bar table can be seen through the open door which is just to the right of the tennis net post. The Supreme Court extended further to the left and that end housed the Judge's Chambers.

In 1962 a jury room was constructed on the other side of the Supreme Court as jury trials were reintroduced. Prior to that, juries were only used for murder trials.
