Darwin Library Front Reference Counter remodelled

April 2017

The front counter of the Darwin library is the hub of the library service. It has been remodelled to make it more convenient for clients as well as a better work station for library staff.

Sentencing Database

December 2016

Publicly available sentencing remarks are being uploaded to the records in the database. Sentences between 2002-2017 are complete; we are working retrospectively as well as adding records/transcripts for sentences for the current year.

Thus for the completed records the remarks will be available from the record retrieved after searching.

If the remarks have not yet been uploaded, the remarks can be requested from the library by emailing the library.

Access to the Sentencing Database by NT criminal practitioners is available. Access is not possible through the Public PCs in the Darwin Library as it is expected that NT criminal practitioners apply for desktop access.

These reports have been developed to assist the court and the local legal profession with

sentencing in the Local Court (Criminal Jurisdiction) as well as with Justice Appeals.

A sample report for section 69 NT Criminal Code in Janaury 2014 is available here.

To request reports please email the library with the email address above and provide details
